For the majority of last week, i was working on a powerpoint presentation on satoyama (里山) preservation in Japan. The most successful group in Japan so far is the Totoro Forest National Fund. There's also an American non-profit organization that is working with them, the Totoro Forest Project. <---there's really cool art contributed by many artists for this fund.

I was having a convo with Baka-Usagi on DA (convo) And i was inspired by her comment of Russia in a bunny girl suit kolkolkol-ing.

i thought her imagery of Russia was so random XDDD

Yes; Five Episodes Is Considered A Long Arc.

The reason i haven't drawn here for a few days is because i had no internet access. This is the third time the outside wire was messed up and my desktop couldn't pick up signals. Had to call someone in to fix that. So once again, there's a temporary wire hanging outside of my tree and my neighbour's tree too -____-;;;

I watched the whole Shinsengumi Rebellion/Itou Arc of Gintama all in one go Thursday. For any other animes this would have sounded like a lot of episodes, but for Gintama this was only five episodes. In Gintama standard, this arc was long, and kickass awesome :D lol, one long and serious arc per year for Gintama anime; Benizakura, Shinsengumi Rebellion, Yoshiwara <---all so gooooddddd~~~~~

Asian Kirby

On Saturday i was over at a friend's house playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. i don't have a Wii, and i have never used a Wiimote in my life, and i suck at gaming in general. So Kirby was the only character that i could kinda slightly control better..... orz.....

The "off colour"(as one of my friend calls it" character appears when two people are playing, but one character is in that particular stage during story mode. So htere was the normal pink Kirby, and there's the yellow off-colour Kirby, which i dubbed "Asian Kirby"

When i was drawing this, i realized the yellow against the black background reminded me of Kill Bill. Thus, i added the katana, yellow stripe, and blood..

i keep typing "Kirdy", instead of "Kirby" -___-;;

High on Pie

So according to Google, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday.

i decided to draw part of the cover for the book "Hop on Pop" since it was the first Dr.Seuss book i read. i remember finding Hop on Pop in my grade one classroom. I read it, and immediately fell in love with it. I think my puny mind was blown away by all those awesome rhymes and the animated colourful illustrations XD. i loved it so much i had to get my parents to get me the book. To this day, Hop on Pop is still the only Dr. Seuss book i own. The rest i just read them from the library.

While googling Hop on Pop, i found this blog entry, Why Seuss Creeps Me Out, it did creep me out. i haven't read Hop on Pop in many many years, but from what i can remember, i do kind of agree with what this guy said.

Fan Art Is Meditation

I drew this on Friday using the fc2 oekaki, but as you may know, they had problems that day. This is actually my second time drawing the same thing, because when i was drawing it the first time, my oekaki window had some problem and suddenly closed. And i was almost finish my drawing too TT___TT But oddly i did not feel any anger. i was calm and just redrew it but with better composition :D i redrew it, but this time i couldn't save it, due to those server problems, so i had to printscreen it. I am still surprised that i wasn't freaking out and panicking when those errors occured O___O

I think this is due to me drawing Buddha. I know in some schools of Buddhism (i can't specificly remember which ones...orz....) drawing/tracing images of Buddha is a form of meditation.

Remember those "Jesus is My Homeboy" t-shirts that were so popular like five years ago. i know "Buddha is My Homeboy" t-shirts also exists. I'm guessing Mary sent this t-shirt to Buddha XD (Saint Oniisan reference ;P )
